## About

Amplitude's official remote MCP server connects AI tools to your Amplitude analytics: querying data, reading and rendering charts, managing dashboards, notebooks, cohorts, taxonomy, experiments and feature flags. It uses OAuth 2.0 with your Amplitude account and has separate US and EU endpoints. ChatGPT connects to a curated subset of roughly 25 tools.

## Install

1. **Connect it in ChatGPT** Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT (Settings → Security and login), open Plugins, select + and paste https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp as the MCP server URL, then sign in with OAuth. Add it to a chat from the composer's tools menu.

2. **Or add it to Codex or the API**

   Codex CLI:

   ```bash
   codex mcp add amplitude --url https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp
   codex mcp login amplitude
   ```

   config.toml:

   ```toml
   [mcp_servers.amplitude]
   url = "https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp"
   ```

   Responses API:

   ```python
   import os
   from openai import OpenAI
   client = OpenAI()
   response = client.responses.create(
       model="gpt-6-astra",
       tools=[{
           "type": "mcp",
           "server_label": "amplitude",
           "server_url": "https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp",
           "authorization": os.environ["AMPLITUDE_API_KEY"],
           "require_approval": "never",
       }],
       input="What was our weekly active user trend over the last quarter?",
   )
   print(response.output_text)
   ```
