## About

Apify's MCP server lets agents search the Apify Store, inspect and call Actors, read run results and datasets, and search Apify documentation. The hosted server supports OAuth or a bearer API token, and tools can be customized via URL parameters.

## Install

1. **Connect it in ChatGPT** Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT (Settings → Security and login), open Plugins, select + and paste https://mcp.apify.com as the MCP server URL, then sign in with OAuth. Add it to a chat from the composer's tools menu.

2. **Or add it to Codex or the API**

   Codex CLI:

   ```bash
   codex mcp add apify --url https://mcp.apify.com
   codex mcp login apify
   ```

   config.toml:

   ```toml
   [mcp_servers.apify]
   url = "https://mcp.apify.com"
   ```

   Responses API:

   ```python
   import os
   from openai import OpenAI
   client = OpenAI()
   response = client.responses.create(
       model="gpt-6-astra",
       tools=[{
           "type": "mcp",
           "server_label": "apify",
           "server_url": "https://mcp.apify.com",
           "authorization": os.environ["APIFY_TOKEN"],
           "require_approval": "never",
       }],
       input="Find an Actor that scrapes Google Maps reviews",
   )
   print(response.output_text)
   ```
