## About

Atlassian's Rovo MCP server connects AI clients to Jira, Confluence, Compass, Jira Service Management and other Atlassian Cloud products. It supports OAuth 2.1 or API tokens, exposes a core set of tools and lets clients discover the rest on demand. The v2 endpoint is recommended; the legacy SSE endpoint is deprecated.

## Install

1. **Connect it in ChatGPT** Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT (Settings → Security and login), open Plugins, select + and paste https://mcp.atlassian.com/v2/mcp as the MCP server URL, then sign in with OAuth. Add it to a chat from the composer's tools menu.

2. **Or add it to Codex or the API**

   Codex CLI:

   ```bash
   codex mcp add atlassian-rovo --url https://mcp.atlassian.com/v2/mcp
   codex mcp login atlassian-rovo
   ```

   config.toml:

   ```toml
   [mcp_servers.atlassian-rovo]
   url = "https://mcp.atlassian.com/v2/mcp"
   ```

   Responses API:

   ```python
   import os
   from openai import OpenAI
   client = OpenAI()
   response = client.responses.create(
       model="gpt-6-astra",
       tools=[{
           "type": "mcp",
           "server_label": "atlassian_rovo",
           "server_url": "https://mcp.atlassian.com/v2/mcp",
           "authorization": os.environ["ATLASSIAN_ROVO_API_KEY"],
           "require_approval": "never",
       }],
       input="List my open Jira issues in the PLAT project",
   )
   print(response.output_text)
   ```
