## About

Microsoft's Azure DevOps MCP server gives agents tools for repositories and pull requests, work items and queries, pipelines and builds, wikis, test plans and Advanced Security alerts. The local server runs via npx with your organization name; a hosted remote endpoint at mcp.dev.azure.com uses Microsoft Entra ID, but clients without Entra support such as Codex should use the local server.

## Install

1. **Add the server to Codex**

   Codex CLI:

   ```bash
   codex mcp add azure-devops -- npx -y @azure-devops/mcp {organization}
   ```

   config.toml:

   ```toml
   [mcp_servers.azure-devops]
   command = "npx"
   args = ["-y", "@azure-devops/mcp", "{organization}"]
   ```

   Agents SDK:

   ```python
   from agents import Agent, Runner
   from agents.mcp import MCPServerStdio
   async with MCPServerStdio(
       name="Azure DevOps",
       params={"command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "@azure-devops/mcp", "{organization}"]},
   ) as server:
       agent = Agent(name="Assistant", mcp_servers=[server])
       result = await Runner.run(agent, "What pull requests are waiting on my review?")
       print(result.final_output)
   ```
