## About

CoinGecko's official MCP server provides cryptocurrency prices, market charts, exchange data and token metadata. A free keyless remote server is available with shared rate limits, and a separate Pro endpoint uses your CoinGecko API key for higher limits and the full toolset. It can also run locally via npx with a Demo or Pro key.

## Install

1. **Connect it in ChatGPT** Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT (Settings → Security and login), open Plugins, select + and paste https://mcp.api.coingecko.com/mcp as the MCP server URL. Add it to a chat from the composer's tools menu.

2. **Or add it to Codex or the API**

   Codex CLI:
