## About

Expo's remote MCP server lets agents read Expo documentation, add libraries, and manage EAS builds, submissions and workflows, plus read TestFlight feedback, crash reports and app store reviews. It authenticates with your Expo account via OAuth. With a local dev server and expo-mcp (SDK 54+), it can also take simulator screenshots, tap UI elements and collect app logs.

## Install

1. **Connect it in ChatGPT** Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT (Settings → Security and login), open Plugins, select + and paste https://mcp.expo.dev/mcp as the MCP server URL, then sign in with OAuth. Add it to a chat from the composer's tools menu.

2. **Or add it to Codex or the API**

   Codex CLI:

   ```bash
   codex mcp add expo --url https://mcp.expo.dev/mcp
   codex mcp login expo
   ```

   config.toml:

   ```toml
   [mcp_servers.expo]
   url = "https://mcp.expo.dev/mcp"
   ```

   Responses API:

   ```python
   import os
   from openai import OpenAI
   client = OpenAI()
   response = client.responses.create(
       model="gpt-6-astra",
       tools=[{
           "type": "mcp",
           "server_label": "expo",
           "server_url": "https://mcp.expo.dev/mcp",
           "authorization": os.environ["EXPO_API_KEY"],
           "require_approval": "never",
       }],
       input="Start an iOS production build on EAS",
   )
   print(response.output_text)
   ```
