## About

Honeycomb's hosted MCP server lets AI agents query observability data, fetch traces, explore the service map, manage Boards and Triggers, check SLOs and launch Canvas investigations. Most tools are read-only; writes require the mcp:write scope. It uses OAuth by default, with Management API key auth for unattended agents, and has US and EU endpoints.

## Install

1. **Connect it in ChatGPT** Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT (Settings → Security and login), open Plugins, select + and paste https://mcp.honeycomb.io/mcp as the MCP server URL, then sign in with OAuth. Add it to a chat from the composer's tools menu.

2. **Or add it to Codex or the API**

   Codex CLI:
