## About

Open-source coding toolkit that gives agents IDE-like symbolic navigation and editing via language servers. Supports finding symbols and references, symbol-level edits, renames and project memories across many languages. Installed with `uv tool install -p 3.13 serena-agent`.

## Install

1. **Add the server to Codex**

   Codex CLI:

   ```bash
   codex mcp add serena -- serena start-mcp-server --context ide
   ```

   config.toml:

   ```toml

   command = "serena"
   args = ["start-mcp-server", "--context", "ide"]
   ```

   Agents SDK:
