## About

Turn any video into a finished, captioned MP4 with Yaps desktop. Yaps transcribes speech locally, aligns captions to the spoken words, and offers a curated set of caption styles — bold social highlights, karaoke sweeps, lower thirds, editorial serif, typewriter reveals, and cinematic frost. Review and correct wording by caption ID, replace repeated mistakes, split or merge captions, change the style, then burn everything into a new video without touching the source. The plugin checks Yaps, sign-in, trial or Yaps Pro access, the local model, and FFmpeg readiness first. It produces a finished captioned video rather than only a separate .srt file. Requires a local-capable ChatGPT Desktop Work or Codex session; ChatGPT web and cloud sessions cannot reach the installed Yaps engine. Users can also run the feature directly in Yaps.

## Install

1. **Add it in ChatGPT** Open Plugins in the ChatGPT sidebar (web or desktop), search for “Yaps Video Captions” and select +. You'll be asked to sign in to any connected service on first use. Then type @ in a chat to call it.
