Background Music turns a short description into instrumental music that plays right inside your chat. Ask for a vibe: "smoky Japanese jazz," "upbeat Berlin techno," or "lo-fi for focus" and it generates a fresh instrumental track and plays it in an embedded player, generating continuous music for about an hour. Every track is fully instrumental (no vocals) and generated on the spot with Google's AI music model; nothing is pulled from a catalog. All audio is AI-generated and carries an inaudible SynthID watermark. There are no accounts and no sign-up. Add the connector, ask for a vibe, and press play.

Open Background Music in ChatGPT's Plugin directory (button above), select + to add it and sign in if asked.

Type @ in the composer and pick Background Music, or start your message with its name. ChatGPT may also suggest it when it fits what you ask.
