Instacart launched an app in ChatGPT in December 2025 as the first company to offer the new Instant Checkout app experience, letting users go from meal ideas to a grocery cart and checkout without leaving the chat. OpenAI later retired native Instant Checkout (March 2026), so the current checkout flow may differ.

Open Instacart in ChatGPT's Plugin directory (sidebar → Plugins, then search), select + to add it and sign in if asked.
- 2Use it in a chat
Type @ in the composer and pick Instacart, or start your message with its name. ChatGPT may also suggest it when it fits what you ask.
