Kagi's official MCP server gives assistants Kagi web search with page fetching and content extraction. Kagi hosts a remote server that authenticates with your Kagi API key as a bearer token (OAuth is on the roadmap), and the same server runs locally via uvx with KAGI_API_KEY.

  1. 1Connect it in ChatGPT

    Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT (Settings → Security and login), open Plugins, select + and paste https://mcp.kagi.com/mcp as the MCP server URL. Add it to a chat from the composer's tools menu.

  2. 2Or add it to Codex or the API
    codex mcp add kagi --url https://mcp.kagi.com/mcp --bearer-token-env-var KAGI_API_KEY
