Translate text, Markdown, plain-text documents, and SRT subtitles accurately with Yaps desktop 2.1.0 or newer. The translation engine runs entirely on your computer: it does not upload the source, call a hosted translation API, or consume metered cloud translation/API tokens. Preserve Markdown structure, code blocks, image embeds, subtitle timestamps, and cue indices while writing a new file that never changes the source. The plugin checks the Yaps version, sign-in, free-trial or Yaps Pro access, language support, and the installed local translation engine first. Requires a local-capable ChatGPT Desktop Work or Codex session; ChatGPT web and cloud sessions cannot reach the installed Yaps engine. Users can also run the feature directly in Yaps.

Open Plugins in the ChatGPT sidebar (web or desktop), search for “Accurate Translation” and select +. You'll be asked to sign in to any connected service on first use. Then type @ in a chat to call it.
