MCP server

Azure DevOps

Work with Azure DevOps repos, pull requests, work items, pipelines and wikis

Microsoft's Azure DevOps MCP server gives agents tools for repositories and pull requests, work items and queries, pipelines and builds, wikis, test plans and Advanced Security alerts. The local server runs via npx with your organization name; a hosted remote endpoint at mcp.dev.azure.com uses Microsoft Entra ID, but clients without Entra support such as Codex should use the local server.

Connect

  1. 1Add the server to Codex
    codex mcp add azure-devops -- npx -y @azure-devops/mcp {organization}

Configs are generated from the publisher's documented endpoint. Check their docs for plan requirements and scopes. New to this? Read the step-by-step tutorial.
