MCP server

Notion

Search, read, and write Notion pages, databases, and comments via hosted MCP

Notion's official hosted MCP server lets AI clients search a workspace, fetch pages, create and update pages and databases, and work with comments, views, and meeting notes. It authenticates with OAuth and is the actively supported option; the older self-hosted @notionhq/notion-mcp-server package is no longer actively maintained.

Connect

  1. 1Connect it in ChatGPT

Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT (Settings → Security and login), open Plugins, select + and paste https://mcp.notion.com/mcp as the MCP server URL, then sign in with OAuth. Add it to a chat from the composer's tools menu.

  2. 2Or add it to Codex or the API
codex mcp add notion --url https://mcp.notion.com/mcp
    codex mcp login notion

The login command opens a browser to finish OAuth.

Configs are generated from the publisher's documented endpoint. Check their docs for plan requirements and scopes. New to this? Read the step-by-step tutorial.
